HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!!

Happy New Year's Eve !!
Here in Scotland we call it Hogmany which is basically New Year's Eve.

I have made a few cards and I will post them over coming days.
I would like to share a photo that I took of the sun setting yesterday. LOL I really dont know why I took it, we had been out shopping and for some reason I had our camera in my bag. I saw the sun setting as we were driving home and I made my husband stop so that I could jump out and take a photo. I have to admit I am not the best person at taking photos but I like this one and besides I find it appropriate for some reason as we finish 2008 and begin 2009 ....

I am so looking forward to 2009 for one I am determined to beat my depression and not let it rule my life at times !!!! There are many many things to look forward to in 2009 especially on the creative side.

So it just leaves me then to WISH EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR !!! May you all be blessed with love of your families and friends and many many happy hours being creative !!!!

HAVE A TURTLY WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY

Hi Everybody

Can you actually believe we are down to the last couple of days of 2008 !!! Where has the year gone, I find myself saying that at this time every year. I also cannot believe that I have now been on holiday from work for a whole week. I go back to work on Monday, 5th January and hubby goes back to work on Tuesday, 6th as do all the children, well they go back to school.

I would like to share a card with you today using one of the new digi stamp images from www.victoriacaseartdesigns.com. I coloured the image with prismas and then used my nestabilities through my cuttlebug. I bought the background paper I think from someone on Etsy, it was a while ago now and shame on me, because I cannot remember.

Please take the time to check out her store for many many more exciting and new designs for 2009. What a talent she has !!!!!

Everyone take care !!!

LOVE, FRIENDSHIP & SISTERHOOD by VICTORIA CASE

Happy Boxing Day Everyone !!!!

I truly hope everyone had a very enjoyable Christmas Day!!!

I would love to share with you a card that I have recently created using a Digital Stamp Image titled "Love, Friendship & Sisterhood) from the new range by Victoria Case over at www.victoriacaseartdesigns.com. Her work is truly amazing !!

The card measures 15cm (across) and 21cm (height). The cardstock is from the range by Papermania which is a very well known company in the UK. First of all I printed off the digital stamp image onto lightweight cardstock and coloured it using my Prismas. I have covered the cardstock with an acetate wrap and tied it together with a piece of pink yarn. I then cut out the digital image and mounted onto the acetate wrap. The piece of acetate comes from a range I purchased from www.carolescrafts.co.uk. To then finish off those two dudettes I stuck little adhesive jewels to their ears to looking like little earrings.

The little badge on the top lefthand side of the card I made by using one of the Nestabilities circles from Spellbinders through my Cuttlebug and then placed it inside two Nestabilities scalloped circles made from the same acetate. I then hand-stitched the two Nestabilities scalloped circles together to hold the plain circle in place. I used silicone glue to stick it to the acetate wrap.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Boxing Day. Take care !!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Happy Christmas Eve Everyone !!!

I would like to post a card today that I made a few years ago, I am not sure what even happened to the card, but I loved it anyway.

Preparations in our household are just about finished. I have spent the morning cleaning and my poor hands feel all rough, needing some nice smelling handcream I think. Hmm my favourite Molton Brown, LOVE IT.

Anyway I want to take this opportunity to wish every single person out there A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and when the NEW YEAR GREETS YOU IT IS A HEALTHY, PEACEFUL and HAPPY ONE!!!

Personally I think 2009 is going to be one of the most exciting yet, creatively that is. To be asked to be part of a Design Team over at www.victoriacaseartdesigns.com is just awesome, I can hardly believe. Meeting the other designers have been such an uplifting experience, and I feel like we are friends and most definitely a team already, which is fantastic.

So for the time being once again may you and your families enjoy this most wonderful time of the year !!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

MEET GEORGE THE BEAR and ITS MY FIRST ANNIVERSARY !!

Happy Saturday Everyone !!!

Well I suppose everyone has now just about got CHRISTMAS all wrapped up !!! oh sorry about that ....

I am nearly organised .. just a few little bits to sort out and wrap and then that will be me all ready to greet Santa. We are having my parents over again this year for dinner.

The little card I want to share with you today is a digi download from Polly Craft Designs and it was sent to me by a friend to try. I think he is very cute. I have coloured him with Prisma colour pencils and blended in parts. I also used my spellbinder squares in my Cuttlebug. Oh how I love using that little machine. I do feel there is something missing from the card, perhaps some lettering down the left hand side saying "DAD", hmmm ....

I would also like to share with you that I reached my first anniversary this week of having stopped smoking for a whole year. Thursday 18th December was the big day for me. Hee hee I could not quite believe that I had actually achieved it, considering I had been doing it for 30 years, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. All the more money to buy crafting items !!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Happy Crafting and HUGS

LETS GET MONOCHROMATIC WITH RUBBER ROMANCE

Hi Everyone

I have finally managed to sit down and make a card today !!! I am so happy about that. I am not sure if I am 100% happy with it. It was one of those days when my mind was on other things but I just soooo badly want to make a card. I used Amy from Rubber Romance www.rubberromance.com . I do adore their stamps .. so chic and girlie. I embossed Amy using black glitter embossing powder and my heat tool. I then cut her out and mounted her onto a silver piece of cardstock and then layered that onto a square piece of monochromatic paper from The Glitter Stack by DCWV which I purchased a few years ago at Michaels while on vacation in Las Vegas. For the final effect I have used a small stick on jewell placed in the middle of Amy's basket and two small pink pom poms on the bottom right corner.

My parents were supposed to be coming over for a visit tonight but I have had to cancel due to the fact that my daughter seems to be coming down with something Ahhhhhh! hope it comes and goes before Christmas !!!

I am off to check on her ... take care everyone !!!!

SNOW PEOPLE and TAGS

Happy Tuesday Everyone
Hi, it has been a few days since I last posted. I would like to share a card with you that I made the other day for a work colleague. Her parents love snowmen and she asked if I could do a card for her with snowmen. She also asked if I could make some Christmas tags. Oh I was worried about the tags .. have never made tags for anyone before.

Anway the stamped I used I purchased from Ebay last year, I am not sure of the name of the company that made it. I do remember that the stamp itself came from Jersey. I coloured in the snow people family with Prismacolour pencils which I totally LOVE. Actually I had to purchase these pencils from Ebay also and they came all the way from the United States as I could not locate any here in Scotland, well I could get smaller sets but I wanted the 120 ahhhh I won't tell you how much that cost.

The tags are made using my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities from Spellbinders ... I love using my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities. I really hope Santa brings me some more Cuttlebug items but I think Santa has other plans for me this year.

Take care everyone !!!

HEAVEN GOT ANOTHER ANGEL

Hi Everyone

While on my day off on Wednesday having just returned to the house from dropping my daughter off at school I thought I would have a coffee and a quick sit down before starting some laundry and a custom order for Christmas tags and a Christmas card. My phone went .. it was a very dear friend quite distraught .. she had just heard that another friend of hers had sadly passed away. This friend had suffered from different illnesses for many many years but was a very much loved daughter, sister and friend to her close family. Oh my heart went out to my friend and the family who had lost their daughter. I had met the family a few years ago at a wedding and they were such nice genuine people. I asked my friend if it would be okay if I could send a card, perhaps they may not remember me.

My friend thought it was a lovely idea, so I put Christmas aside and thought about making a card that was simple and elegant basically from someone they don't know very well. I wanted to share the card with you. The stamp I used comes from Penny Black. It is so hard I think to make a sympathy card, but it nice just to let the people know that you are thinking of them.

Hugs to Everyone

INTERNATIONAL SWAPS

Happy Saturday Everyone !!

Very recently, while surfing the internet (as you do) ... I ended up on Flickr. I knew some of my friends that I had met through Etsy used Flickr as another way of displaying either personal photographs or another free way of advertising and displaying what they make and sell.

I came across something that really caught my attention ... it was swapping groups. I thought this sounded very cool and exciting. I spoke to a friend who had joined a swap before and wanted to know how it had turned out for her. She thought it was a fantastic idea. Well that's it I thought, I must do this. I was lucky enough to join a group and only last week took part in my first swap. IT WAS FANTASTIC !!! and such fun. You get teamed up with a partner, probably from another country. I got teamed up with the most lovely and very talented lady in Florida, who as it turned out had Scottish origins ... You then share a list of things that you like and dislike and then privately you exchange addresses.

A very important part of our family is that our daughter sponsors an Orangutan at Monkey World in Dorset. It is an ape rescue sanctuary. In September of this year we were priviledged enough to make a trip there, what a wonderul experience that was. Anyway I advised my swap partner that we love Monkeys in our home, and she provided me with a list of things that she likes and dislikes.

I had a lot of fun shopping for some Scottish goodies for her and I know that my swap partner had a lovely time making the goodies that I received and I made a new friend. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to take part in another swap very soon. It is really great fun receiving presents the mail ... even for grown ups !!!!
Have a wonderful weekend !!

A FAR TRAVELLED CARD

Hi Everyone !!!

Thanks for stopping by.

I was asked by a friend who lives in France if I could make a custom card for her, that she in turn wanted to give a dear friend. When asked to make custom cards I usually like to know a bit about that person. Like all card makers "MEN" are the hardest people to make cards for !!! I read those dreaded words .... its for a man.

The information was he likes war games. The first thing that popped into my head was that boys toy from many many years ago "ACTION MAN". My mind started ticking ... here is what I came up with.
I am glad to report that my friend was happy with the end result. So this card was made in Scotland, it is now on its way to France and then it will be posted back to the UK again to England to the receiver. I hope he likes it.
Enjoy whats left of the weekend everyone !!!

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF

Hi there

My name is Juniejo. This is my first ever time creating a BLOG *fingers crossed*.

I live in Scotland. I am married (happily) and have been so for the last 11 years. We have a 9 year old daughter.

I have been making cards now for the last 3 years. I LOVE IT. I have made so many new friends since I started crafting, from all over the world. Crafting definitely brings people together from all over the world.

At the moment I am at work and I should really be typing letters. Also it is nearly the end of my day, so I will bye for now.

BYE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
