INTERNATIONAL SWAPS

Happy Saturday Everyone !!

Very recently, while surfing the internet (as you do) ... I ended up on Flickr. I knew some of my friends that I had met through Etsy used Flickr as another way of displaying either personal photographs or another free way of advertising and displaying what they make and sell.

I came across something that really caught my attention ... it was swapping groups. I thought this sounded very cool and exciting. I spoke to a friend who had joined a swap before and wanted to know how it had turned out for her. She thought it was a fantastic idea. Well that's it I thought, I must do this. I was lucky enough to join a group and only last week took part in my first swap. IT WAS FANTASTIC !!! and such fun. You get teamed up with a partner, probably from another country. I got teamed up with the most lovely and very talented lady in Florida, who as it turned out had Scottish origins ... You then share a list of things that you like and dislike and then privately you exchange addresses.

A very important part of our family is that our daughter sponsors an Orangutan at Monkey World in Dorset. It is an ape rescue sanctuary. In September of this year we were priviledged enough to make a trip there, what a wonderul experience that was. Anyway I advised my swap partner that we love Monkeys in our home, and she provided me with a list of things that she likes and dislikes.

I had a lot of fun shopping for some Scottish goodies for her and I know that my swap partner had a lovely time making the goodies that I received and I made a new friend. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hope to take part in another swap very soon. It is really great fun receiving presents the mail ... even for grown ups !!!!
Have a wonderful weekend !!

Hugs
Junie

Oh Junie! You are so sweet! Thank you so much for saying such wonderful things about me and your first swap! I'm so glad it turned out well for you. I know it did for me!!

It certainly is fun to receive gifts even as adults. There's a child in all of us.

I'll be in touch!

Love & Hugs,
Cindy

OOooh, a swap sounds like fun. Looks like you got some cute monkeys and things. I may have to try this out myself. I love trades and this is kinda like a trade. Is it done through Flickr?

Ps. Thanks for the vote on my contest. Here is your blog comment. hehe Nice blog you got here!

Oh that sounds like a fun “international connection”! hee hee ;)
Looks like you got some cute goodies! One of those little monkeys looks a lot like a Michael’s treat- speaking of which, you would not believe what Michael’s looks like now- the revamped their store to look very modern!
Hugs to your cutie pie daughter, handsome hubby and yourself :)
